Hence Students undergoing training with the simulator will help them to get immediate employment opportunities.

Engineering Institution if they Establishes their Power System Laboratory with HONALEC HES-8050, REAL TIME Power System simulator Hardware & SCADA System will be the most informative and advanced learning platform available in the world for Power Engineering Education & training.

APPLICATION OF POWER SYSTEM SIMULATOR HES8050 FOR THE PURCHASING INSTITUTION
  1. Government of India has already taken a Cabinet decision for implementing smart grid technology in all electricity boards of the country, and a huge number of smart grid engineers are required for operation and control of smart grids in India and elsewhere in the world. Hence, engineering institutions should gear up to educate smart grid engineers at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Once the institution establishes its Centre of Excellence in Power Systems with the implementation of Power System Simulator HES8050 hardware, MATLAB/Simulink, and OPAL-RT power system software, the institution can start B.Tech and M.Tech courses in smart grid technology. ERDTI–HONALEC will provide the necessary curriculum structure and faculty training for educating smart grid technologists.
  2. The institution purchasing ERDTI–HONALEC HES8050PSS will be able to conduct periodic training programs for electricity board engineers on both conventional power systems and smart grid technology. This is inevitable for electricity board engineers for trouble-free operation of smart grids. ERDTI–HONALEC will provide the necessary training modules for training electricity board engineers.
  3. With the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Power Systems in the institution, incorporating HES8050PSS, OPAL-RT, MATLAB/Simulink, and digital classroom facilities, the institution can start Ph.D. programs for a large number of candidates, including engineering college faculty members from southern India, since acquiring a Ph.D. degree has become mandatory as per AICTE guidelines. ERDTI–HONALEC will provide thrust-area problems related to power systems for conducting this research program. ERDTI–HONALEC will also provide guide facilities for this research program if required by the institution.
  4. With the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Power Systems in the institution, incorporating HES8050PSS, OPAL-RT, and MATLAB/Simulink, the institution can conduct research programs in new and innovative areas of power systems, the institutions can avail Department of Science and Technology (DST) funding for the research program.
  5. International funding agencies such as USAID (United States Agency for International Development), the World Bank, ADB, and other UN bodies will provide substantial grants for conducting research programs under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme).
  6. The institution can establish an NGO in the name of PSRC (Power System Research Centre) and attract individual power system experts, institutions, and industries as members of PSRC with annual subscriptions and research grants from industry to the institution for conducting research programs in thrust areas. The institution can work as a consultant on product development for industries.
  7. The main institution establishing this Centre of Excellence in Power Systems with the facility of HES8050PSS, OPAL-RT, and MATLAB/Simulink can make other institutions part of a franchise model by providing virtual videos and other real-time data to the franchise institutions through annual subscriptions to the main institution.
  8. The institution can establish a staff training centre in power systems where UGC, affiliated technical universities, and AICTE will provide substantial grant facilities to the institution.
  9. The institution establishing a Centre of Excellence in Power Systems with the facility of HES8050PSS, OPAL-RT, MATLAB/Simulink, and digital classroom facilities can provide consultancy services in establishing Centres of Excellence in other under-developing countries throughout the world, including SAARC countries. The Government of India, through the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, and NITI Aayog, under international cooperation programs, and with recommendations from the PMO, may fund the consulting institution to the respective ministries.
